Quotes on the film

“We’ve had a couple of people go, ‘I’m really excited to see Flesh!’ Well, you will see flesh in Fresh… perhaps not in the best way” – Daisy Edgar-Jones to Flaunt Magazine

“We did five days’ worth of night shoots in between the first two weeks of filming. Then, we had five days’ night shoots. And then we had the final two weeks in Steve’s house. So, I feel like we were always in some kind of crazy, fatigued, weird, dream-like surreal world.” – Daisy on filming Fresh to Flaunt Magazine

“I feel like the script does that so well—every time you think you know when you can relax, the rug gets pulled out from underneath you in such interesting ways and ways you don’t expect. I read it not quite knowing what was coming. My agent gave me a slight warning that it was going to be dark, but I didn’t know exactly how dark. So I was reading with my jaw [dropping]…It was really a cool way of reading it.” – Daisy on the film’s script to Flaunt Magazine

“I was really excited by meeting Mimi Cave, our director, and she sent me through the sizzle-reel she’d made, like a mockup trailer for Fresh, using images from different films, with a really cool soundtrack, and I thought, ‘Yeah, this will really elevate, and it’s a really different and cool script. She’ll bring something amazing, visually.’ And when I found out Sebastian was playing Steve, I thought, ‘I’m in safe hands here.’ And also, the brilliant producers here who worked behind the project. We always felt like we were onto something unique.” – Daisy on the cast & crew of the film to Flaunt Magazine

“I think, the film definitely touches on the dating fatigue that we’ve all got and experienced. Just the difficulties of meeting people online, and just meeting people generally, and how seemingly hard it is to meet somebody. I think with Steve, you know, their first kind of spark, and the fact that he approaches her in real life, it’s like, ‘Oh, gosh, maybe he’s different.’ And they do genuinely
have a connection at the beginning, and ultimately Noa is able to manipulate that to her advantage in the end. But yeah, I think that this dating fatigue is something Fresh explores very well.” – Daisy on dating fatigue to Flaunt Magazine

“She was the reason I ended up doing this [film]. When I saw Daisy had signed on, I immediately emailed the Deadline article to my agents. I said, ‘She’s incredible. I want to get in on this.’ I saw Normal People and just loved it. She was so complex and layered and real and vulnerable and sort-of bold. It was the most raw, authentic performance that I had seen in a while.” – Sebastian Stan on Daisy to Rolling Stone

Film Promotion

Daisy kicked off the promotion for ‘Fresh’ by attending The Graham Norton Show on February 24, 2022. This was Daisy’s first in-person talk show appearance! She was a guest alongside Benedict Cumberbatch, RuPaul and Diane Morgan. They discussed Covid-19 lockdown, the film and much more.

Next up on the Fresh promotion tour was The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on March 1st, 2022. There she showed Jimmy her favorite crisps from the United Kingdom, tried Girl Scout cookies for the first time and talked about the film. This was Daisy’s first in-person appearance on the show!

On March 3rd, 2022, Daisy attended a premiere for the film inside Hollywood Legion Post 43 on Highland Avenue. Instead of an afterparty, the premiere had a pre-screening reception due to the film’s subject matter. Gina Wade Creative created a display for the reception featuring a large table with food on it, cleavers hanging on a wall, glass jars filled with raw meat, and boxes of snacks shaped like body parts.

Daisy also did several magazine spreads and photoshoots around the time of the film’s release, all which can be found within our 2022 Photoshoots section and 2022 Magazine Scans section. Most notably was perhaps her shoot for Flaunt Magazine alongside co-star Sebastian Stan!

In addition to the promotional events above, Daisy and Sebastian did several interviews with various online magazine, press sites and more. You can find a large collection of these in our video archive below –
